Sometime in 2009, Google launched Google Trader in Uganda. Google trader is free classifieds service which allows users to sell products and services online. I have tested the system for the google.co.ug domain but I dont get to see much posts. There is atleast a single post a day which is unlike Google since  thousands use  Google in a day in UG.  Nevertheless, Google has decided to launch a Ghanian version of Google Trader. The link went live a few weeks ago. Google says in a blog post “We learned a lot from that first launch and today we are happy to launch Google Trader in Ghana!”

From Google Africa Blog;

A few weeks ago we opened up Trader to merchants and individuals across the country. Since then we’ve seen thousands of posts across the different categories. Are you looking for a job in Accra as a driver, in a restaurant, or maybe as an engineer? Looking for an affordable house to rent or have an apartment for sale? Want to buy a second-hand pickup truck in Kumasi for your new business? Or perhaps you’re getting married and you’re on the lookout for a wedding dress or bridal decor? There are also household appliances, electronics, phones and many other products and services available in your local area.
