Samsung Galaxy Note

Samsung has scheduled a press event where they have promised to “unveil its latest mobile business solution and discuss its strategy to grow its business solution”. The event which is scheduled for early morning hours at Crowne Plaza hotel is believed to be where Samsung will officially unveil the much talked about Samsung Galaxy Note phonetab“.

I already had a glimpse and test of the phone in South Africa and recorded this short video.

The Galaxy Note is a 5.3 inch touch phone which weighs 178 grams and comes with a stylus (called S-Pen). It boasts of a 1.4GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Dual-Core processor. It has 1 GB RAM and an internal ROM of 16 GB which can be upgraded through the microSD slot to up to 32 GB.

The front camera is 2 megapixel while the rear camera is 8 megapixel which has features like geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection and image stabilization.

The Galaxy Note is already on sale in Kenya for between Ksh 62,000 to Ksh 70,000

Damn, why on earth would I want to get that Titanic thing instead of a generally more sensibly styled Galxy S2? The features are up there but the gadget is too large. I have always failed to undesrtand the notes’ dimensions as its neither a phone nor a tab. Imagine drawing it out in the middle of Moi Avenue taking a call or snaps? You would b the joke of the street!

Dvylibra, you’re mistaken and basing your review purely on perceptions and what people think! Have you actually taken one on a “test drive”? I personally have no problems with it!

Is it practical as a phone (size)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALiyfNUjbtk&feature=relmfu

If size was really an issue then samsung wouldn’t have sold 5 million units in 5 months.
It’s also the first device that’s met a niche in the market for a truly integrated ‘hybrid’ phone.

Features and Mod’s overview: see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JyfrD4VrHY

    – Larger 5.3 inch display improves overall browsing and user experience, unlike smaller phones (S2 and iphone).
